January 17, 2023How to Prep for a Night of Drinking?
‘Tis the season to be jolly, however no one enjoys the day after a night of hard drinking. Poor sleep, headaches, stomach problems, heart palpitations and mood swings are all conditions we would rather avoid. But, is there a way to have fun, socialize, enjoy alcohol and skip the unwanted wasted next day? Here are some tips to smooth your way into the next day.
Hydration is Key
Alcohol, like coffee, is a diuretic, meaning it prompts the kidneys to flush water out of your body. If you plan on drinking alcohol, prep your body in advance by drinking plenty of water. Enjoy your liquor, but sip slowly, that way you’ll give your body more time to break down the alcohol. Drink water in between drinks as well. Another way to keep your hydration level up, is to include sugary drinks that have some added electrolytes, such as sodium and potassium. These hydrate more efficiently than water alone.
Eat
You may feel light headed and tipsy quickly on an empty stomach. Alcohol is absorbed into your bloodstream within 90 seconds of consuming it. The higher the strength of the alcohol, the faster it’s absorbed. Therefore, drinking on an empty stomach also greatly increases how fast alcohol is absorbed into your bloodstream. Eating a nutritious meal rich in healthy carbs, proteins and fats before and during alcohol consumption can slow down how fast alcohol is absorbed.
Don’t Mix
Stick with your first chosen drink. If it’s wine, then have a bit more, but don’t switch to sugary cocktails or liquors. Your head and stomach will be thankful the next day.
Pick Lighter Colored Drinks
When you know you’ll be drinking more, pick lighter colored drinks. Vodka, gin, and light beer are much easier on your body (and lower in calories) than whiskey, bourbon, or red wine. That’s because darker-colored drinks contain high amounts of congeners which make hangovers worse. Congeners are biologically active compounds that are naturally formed when alcohol is manufactured. More specifically, they are formed during the fermentation and aging processes. They are responsible for the taste and aroma of alcoholic drinks. That’s why darker-colored drinks like red wine and whiskey taste the way they do.
Drink Before Party
Our last tip to prep your body to break down alcohol faster and safer is to drink a BEFORE PARTY shot before any alcoholic beverage. BEFORE PARTY contains 5 carefully selected natural, biologically active components which prepare the liver to produce enzymes that will be able to break down alcohol faster once it’s inside the body. Our main ingredients of DHM, yam root, L-glutamine, Lysine, Panax ginseng all help to protect and vitalize the liver for a more enjoyable night out. Finally, not just a promise of a magic cure, but a product that will alleviate the side effects of a terrible hangover. Go ahead, we dare you to put it to the test!
