3 Reasons to Choose SLEEP PRO
March 13, 2023During my university years, I turned to energy drinks for help quite a few times to crash study for exams. Even then, I knew it wasn’t the healthiest choice, but I figured I could manage a few. The high levels of caffeine and sugar kept me awake as I studied through the night and finally passed my exams. However, the unpleasant side effects of little sleep, lots of sugar, caffeine, and taurine were quickly felt by my body. When my heart started beating faster, and my body shaking, I knew it was time to part ways.
What’s wrong with energy drinks and why do we still drink them when we know how harmful they are?
Energy drinks promise to give us more energy, better focus, and better performance. Just the opposite happens. Our brains become duller, our performance deteriorates as the ingredients empty our cells. They don’t give us real energy, as the two main ingredients are sugar and caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant, which gives a false sense of energy while stimulating the adrenal glands. The other damaging ingredient is sugar, which can be as much as 25-37 grams in a 2.5 dl energy drink, the equivalent of 8-12 sugar cubes. This amount of sugar can suddenly spike insulin levels, and after about two hours, when the effect wears off, we can feel even more tired, irritable, and cranky, so we reach for another drink to rev us up with sugar and caffeine. It’s a well-thought-out vicious cycle.

Don’t think you’re doing yourself any favors by consuming energy drinks before exercise. If you’re drinking it because you think you’re burning energy, and glucose, and using your muscles anyway, therefore you can easily gulp down an energy drink to make up for the sugars you have burned, you’re dead wrong. Most energy drinks are made with dextrose, a type of sugar made from a mixture of glucose and fructose, which is produced from corn, wheat, and potatoes using enzymes. Dextrose is much cheaper to produce than beet sugar. However, the use of fructose is not without its risks, as it contributes to obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver. It raises blood levels of harmful triglycerides and ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol. Fructose goes only to the liver, not to the muscles or other parts of the body. Since it doesn’t feed the muscles or the brain, it eventually turns into belly fat.
Although most energy drinks contain important minerals such as magnesium, sodium, and potassium, they do not contain enough to have a real physiological effect.
Let’s take a look at BRAINPRO.
BRAINPRO is not an energy drink. It is a functional drink, meaning it has a targeted effect. It is sugar-free, caffeine-free, gluten-free, vegan, and contains no harmful ingredients. It promises to keep you more alert and focused for up to three hours. It achieves this effect through its highly active ingredients used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. BRAINPRO also contains several prominent ingredients that are considered nootropics – brain food – such as lion’s mane mushroom, Rhodiolarosea, Panax ginseng, choline bitartrate, and huperzine-A. Lion’s mane mushrooms are beneficial for brain function, Rhodiolarosea increases energy levels, supports long-term memory, and reduces stress. Panax ginseng improves cognitive abilities, supports the immune system, and is anti-inflammatory. Choline bitartrate also has a positive effect on cognitive activity in the brain and can enhance performance in sports. Huperzine-A improves memory and mental function.
In addition, BRAINPRO also contains magnesium L-threonate, the only type of magnesium that can cross the blood-brain barrier. Recent research shows that it can improve short and long-term memory activities, thus, by providing the brain with adequate magnesium nutrition, it can also reduce the development of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Personal experience
I first tried BRAINPRO about a year ago. At the time I didn’t know much about the active ingredients in the product and what to expect. After a bad night’s sleep, I drank it in the morning to help me get through the day. My job at the time required a lot of attention, patience, and constant interaction with people, which could wear me down by the afternoon, especially if I had a sleepless night.
After a few hours, I still felt I was doing well with my daily tasks. The benefits were almost imperceptible. I could listen and stay patient. I have been an avid consumer and fan of BRAINPRO ever since. I mainly consume it and feel its effects when I’m tired, or when I need to stay focused. The magnesium in BRAINPRO has helped me multiple times to alleviate headaches, without taking extra medication.
For me, the choice is clear – BRAINPRO! ☺
